How to Resize Image in Photoshop




The best way to resize an image and/or resolution is to use Adobe Photoshop. Simply because you can easily manipulate image size, width, height and resolution. This is one of the useful technique in Photoshop and you will use it all throughout your graphic designing.




Follow the step by step procedure:

Step 1: Open any picture in Adobe Photoshop, you can also download free image here online.



Step 2: Click on Image, Image size, you can change the pixel dimensions, image dimensions and resolution. You can interchange the unit from pixel to inches and to other unit of measurement. Tick the Constrain Proportions to apply changes automatically once you change either the width, height or resolution.



Step 3: Save your work. Go to File, Save as, then write the file name and choose the file format, then click Save. Most common file formats are .JPG, .BMP and .PNG, make sure that you save it in Adobe Photoshop format .PSD in order for you to edit anytime.


Tip and Tricks:
Press Alt + Ctrl + I for Image Size
Press Shft + Ctrl + S for Save As
Press Ctrl + N for New Canvas
Press Shft + Ctrl + L for Auto Tone
Press Alt + Shft + Ctrl + L for Auto Contrast
Press Shft + Ctrl + B for Auto Color

Image Cloning



Have you heard an actor or actress with big legs, wide body, unblemished skin and many pimples but posted on a magazine with slim body and clear complexion? I assured you the image was enhanced in Adobe Photoshop. 

One of the most popular tools in Adobe Photoshop is the Clone Stamp Tool. It is very easy to use and even if you're beginner to this software application by just following the step by step procedure you will get good results.

Cloning the baby in the peas



Follow the step by step procedure:

Step 1: Open any picture in Photoshop, you can also download free images  by clicking   baby, peas and flower.

Step 2: Click on Clone Stamp Tool (S), point your mouse on the center of the image that you want to clone and press ALT + Click. Now point your mouse to the other part of the image that you want to apply the cloning. Click and drag the mouse to apply the cloning technique. You will be guided by the moving + sign from the original image while using the tool.


Step 3: Save your work. Go to FileSave as, write the file name and choose the file format then click Save. Most common  file formats are .JPG, .BMP, and .PNG make sure that you also save it in Adobe Photoshop format .PSD in order for you to edit anytime.

Note: The same procedure will apply if you want to clone from one picture to another. Press Alt + Click on the first picture and go to the other picture then click and drag the mouse to apply the cloning technique. Navigate the Opacity(located on option bar, below menu bar) slider to define the intensity in applying clone stamp tool.

Press Ctrl + Tab for cycle through open documents
Double click Hand tool to fit the image in window
Press Ctrl + Alt + Z for Step Backward (Undo)
Press Ctrl + Shift + Z for Step Forward (Redo)

Colored to Black and White Using Photoshop



In our fast changing technology, Black and White Photographs can either be taken the way in first place or it can be done through modern software processing techniques. Either way you have an option. In this tutorial you will learn the fastest and easiest way of converting your images from Colored to Black and White using one of the best software when it comes to photo editing.

Follow the step by step procedure:

Step 1: Open any colored image in Adobe Photoshop, you may also download free images here online.


Step 2: Click on Image, Adjustments, Black & White, you can also navigate the sliders for color adjustment, also by clicking the Tint check box will allow you to enable tinting of the image. Click OK.


Step 3: Save your work. Go to FileSave as, then write the file name and choose the file format then click Save. Most common  file formats are .JPG, .BMP, and .PNG make sure that you also save it in Adobe Photoshop format .PSD in order for you to edit anytime.

Note: If you want much faster way of converting colored to black and white images, after opening the image on Adobe Photoshop you can directly go to Image, Mode, Grayscale. However, by doing this, tinting and color adjustment/navigation is not possible. Nevertheless, you may add some effects in Filter menu.

Photo to Cartoon Using Adobe Photoshop



Adobe Photoshop is well known as bitmap graphics editor like photo editing, cloning, healing, changing from colored to black and white or vice versa, enhancing image properties and much more. But this software is not limited to bitmap alone. It is also useful in transforming image/photo to make it looks like a cartoon image. In this tutorial you will learn the basic, easiest and fastest way of photo to cartoon image transformation.

Follow the step by step procedure:


Step 1: Open any focus picture in Adobe Photoshop, you may also download free images here online.


Step 2: Adjust the Brightness and Contrast (it depends on the brightness of the image, the overall image must have a balance brightness/contrast to get good results, if you think its good enough then proceed to Step 3). Click on the Image menu, Adjustment, Brightness/Contrast. (Brightness: -60 Contrast: 20) then click OK.

Step 3: Go to Filter, Artistic, Poster Edges. On the lower left corner play around with the zoom button to view the image clearly. Navigate the Poster Edges slider to define the thickness, intensity and posterization then click OK.



Step 4: Click on FilterArtistic, Cutout. On the lower left corner play around with the zoom button to view the image clearly. Navigate the Cutout slider to define the number of levels, edge simplicity, edge fidelity then click OK.


Step 5: Save your work. Go to File, Save as, then write the file name and choose the file format then click Save. Most common  file formats are .JPG, .BMP, and .PNG make sure that you also save it in photoshop format .PSD in order for you to edit anytime.

Basic Tips & Tricks:
Press [ to increase brush diameter and ] to decrease.
Press Ctrl + + for zoom in
Press Ctrl + for zoom out.
Press Ctrl + 0 fit on screen.
Letter after each tool indicates keyboard shortcut (M for Marquee Tools, L for Lasso Tools, W for Wand Tool, C for Crop Tool and so on).
